This female-only test is used to detect T vaginalis, a parasite that causes trichomoniasis, one of the most common sexually transmitted infections in the United States, with more than 3 million cases reported per year.
Female symptoms include a foul-smelling vaginal discharge, genital itching or painful urination. Men typically have no symptoms.
Recommended For:
Women who have unprotected sex; Women who have more than one sexual partner; Women who experience the symptoms listed above.
Special Notes:
Women should not cleanse the labial area prior to providing the specimen.
